When family, good food and good design means everything to the guest of honor

One of the things I love the most about our industry is the connection that we form with our clients as we help them to celebrate the milestones throughout their lives. For Kelsey Timberlake Events, this former mother of the bride was celebrated to the fullest! This time it was the former-bride's turn to honor her mother with a day designed to the nines with her in mind.

The birthday girl, an interior designer, is passionate about traditional patterns, layers of textures, lush florals and cooking for her family.

The entire event design was inspired by the invitation suite dreamed up by the Tie That Binds. The custom ensemble was varied in textures with handmade papers, velvets and silks. Colors for the day were pulled from a pattern reminiscent of a classical wallpaper.

Kelsey Timberlake turned to us to interpret the themes from the invitations into the design of the actual event.

To honor the birthday girls favorite things in life, her family, food & design, the focus of the entire night was gathering together at one table. Each and every detail of the dinner party was a choice to reflect the vision.

The flora reflected the vibrancy of the changing seasons, even featuring fruits from floral designer's own mother's trees.

Reminiscent of thick, cozy quilt, the pale blue linen served as a cool neutral to ground each element of the design.

The multi-coursed local, organic dinner was carefully paired with the wines of the vineyard surrounding the party creating a strong sense of place.

And of course, what's a birthday without a cake?! A historical family recipe of Irish oatmeal cake was modernized with a bright and fresh cream cheese frosting.
